Flat Helix Piercing Size Guide
Finding your perfect flat piercing size depends on a couple of factors:
- Your individual anatomy - everyones ears are different so the diameter you need will be based on your skin thickness and ear shape. Unfortunately body jewellery isn't universal, so what works for one person may not necessarily work for you.
- Your piercing placement - generally a flat piercing is made on the flattest part of the ear above the rook where the cartilage is fairly thick.
|6mm - 8mm
Flat piercings require a flat-back labret, it's not possible to wear a hoop in this piercing. The bar length you need will depend on your skin thickness. The most commonly used lengths range from 6mm to 8mm. For a snug fit and to avoid snagging on hair we recommend 6mm length, however if you have thicker cartilage or prefer a bit more room between the ends of the barbell 8mm may be better suited to you.
A flat piercing is the perfect placement to show off a statement design, especially one with a dainty hanging charm. Our best-selling flat jewellery is the Solitaire Crystal Labret and Vogue Flat-Back Labret.
If you prefer to upgrade your flat with a touch of luxury, our 14K Solid Gold Flat-Backs are guaranteed to make your piercing stand out!
It's usually a process of trial and error to find your perfect fit, however we always recommend visiting your local piercing studio as they will be able to measure your ear and offer professional advice.
